New Delhi. This year is proving to be difficult for Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Meta. He is now the 20th richest person in the world. According to the latest reports, Meta chief Zuckerberg has lost nearly 50 per cent of his wealth by the third quarter of 2022.
Now with his wealth declining by such a huge margin, Zuckerberg is now ranked 20th on the list of the world’s richest people. Notably, Zuckerberg’s current net worth is the lowest since 2014. Zuckerberg’s net wealth fell from US$106 billion to US$55.9 billion in the past two years. This simply means that the meta chief has lost $71 billion, which is almost half of his net worth so far.
Elon Musk’s net worth also declined by $6 billion
It’s not just Zuckerberg who has lost a great deal of his wealth, but it is the same with other billionaires. The world’s richest person Elon Musk’s net worth has also declined by $6 billion. Bill and Melinda Gates also lost $27 and 26 billion respectively. Even Amazon chief Jeff Bezos suffered a massive loss of $46 billion.
Had to step into the world of meta
Recently Zuckerberg changed the name of Facebook to Meta Platform and only after Facebook changed to Meta, his net worth fell down 14 places. As of May 2020, Zuckerberg was ranked third in the list of billionaires with a net worth of $87.8 billion.
