Top US lawmakers have said that one of the reasons for Chinese aggression against India is the strong ties between India and the US. The statement issued by the India Caucus said that China’s recent aggression in Arunachal Pradesh is a reminder of why a strong security partnership with India is critical to the national security of the United States and our allies. The recent incident stands as another Chinese threat in Indian territory, he said.

Years of work to strengthen ties
As co-chairs of the India Caucus, we have worked for years to deepen the bilateral relationship between the US and India, the US lawmakers said. The India Caucus has made progress in this direction by including the Khanna-Sherman-Schweikert amendment in the FY23 NDAA passed by the House.

Meanwhile, the India Caucus appreciated the inclusion of Section 1260 in the FY23 Final Conference Report to strengthen military-to-military cooperation in key areas. Including, cooperation in intelligence gathering, fifth generation aircraft and emerging technologies to prevent China’s aggression and encroachment in the Indo-Pacific region.
