Two days after the CBI demanded cancellation of bail granted to Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav in the IRCTC scam, the RJD leader on Monday reiterated that all central probe agencies- CBI, Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Income Tax Department can open offices at his residence. . He also claimed that the BJP has lost all credibility and is now trying to use central agencies to corner him as the party fears losing the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
All three agencies can open their offices at my home
Tejashwi said, I had made this proposal to the central investigative agencies earlier also. I am again telling them (CBI, ED and IT) that they can open their offices at my home, it will be convenient for them (officials). I have always cooperated. Yadav took this quip in response to questions from journalists about the CBI in a Delhi court seeking cancellation of bail granted to Tejashwi. The scam pertains to alleged irregularities in awarding operation contracts of two Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) hotels to a private firm.
According to the CBI, the RJD leader had allegedly threatened his officers during a press conference held in Patna in August. In its plea before a Delhi court seeking cancellation of bail granted to Yadav in 2018, the CBI had said that the deputy CM had threatened the investigating officers and influenced the case.
Tejashwi said that the BJP is scared of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. There is nothing but fear behind the CBI’s move to cancel my bail. People will reject BJP in 2024 because it has failed to fulfill all the promises made before the last elections. The formation of the Grand Alliance government in Bihar will have an impact at the national level. BJP leaders have lost the credibility and trust of the voters.
