Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday asked the state health department to launch a campaign to administer booster doses to the beneficiaries of anti-Covid-19 vaccines to effectively control the coronavirus pandemic. He has asked the officials of the department to start setting up camps from Friday to administer booster doses to the people. Dhami said that awareness should be spread about the importance of booster dose and people should be encouraged to get vaccinated against this epidemic.

He said that if new cases emerge, the samples should be sent for genome sequencing. He said that Covid control rooms should be activated in all the districts. Dhami issued these instructions while presiding over a high-level meeting with the officials of the health department. This meeting was called to discuss the steps to be taken to prevent the spread of this virus.
Uttarakhand Health Minister Dhan Singh Rawat participated in the meeting through digital medium and emphasized on the importance of booster dose. In a digital meeting, Uttarakhand Health Secretary R Rajesh Kumar told the Chief Medical Officers of all districts to ensure preparedness for prevention and control of the new subtype of Covid under the revised surveillance strategy released in June this year.
In a separate letter to all the District Magistrates, the Health Secretary has asked them to ensure that the details of all patients suffering from influenza-like illness or severe respiratory illness coming to the hospitals are entered in the portal of the Integrated Health Information Platform.
