The Rajasthan phase of Congress’ Bharat Jodo Yatra has been completed. The most important aspect of this was the face-to-face meeting between CM Ashok Gehlot and his rival Sachin Pilot in the presence of Rahul Gandhi. In this, Rahul took the initiative to end the differences between the two. However, the swords are still drawn between the two veteran Congress leaders of Rajasthan. In the next few days, the Congress Disciplinary Committee will submit its report in the Rajasthan case. After this the party can take any step.
During the election of the Congress President, there was a disturbance in the Rajasthan Congress. After this the party made efforts to maintain peace for a long time, but it disintegrated just before the Bharat Jodo Yatra reached the state. The reason for this was the terming of Sachin Pilot as a ‘traitor’ by CM Ashok Gehlot.
Rahul tried for reconciliation in Alwar
To end the tension between Gehlot-Pilot and bring about reconciliation, Rahul Gandhi held a meeting for about one and a half hours at the Circuit House in Alwar. The party’s National General Secretary KC Venugopal and some selected ministers were present in this. In this, Rahul Gandhi gave strict instructions to Gehlot and Pilot to remain calm. Rahul said that the one who works hard for the party will definitely get the fruits of his hard work. Everyone knows who is doing what.
Controversy in cold storage, not over
Bharat Jodo Yatra has entered Haryana after touring Rajasthan for 16 days. During this, both the veteran leaders of Rajasthan maintained peace and Rahul’s visit to the state was completed without any major political controversies and rhetoric. Experts say that the Gehlot-Pilot dispute has gone into cold storage due to Rahul Gandhi’s reconciliation initiative, it has not ended completely.
Disciplinary committee will submit report to Kharge on 24th
According to Congress sources, the disciplinary committee of the party will submit the inquiry report on the indiscipline of Congress leaders and MLAs in Rajasthan to National President Mallikarjun Kharge on December 24. After the report of the committee, tension may again increase in Rajasthan Congress. The party had given show cause notices to MLAs Shantilal Dhariwal, Mahesh Joshi and Dharmendra Rathore. Kharge will act on the recommendations of the disciplinary committee after consultation with the Gandhi family. Elections are to be held in the state next year and the tussle between Gehlot and Pilot for the post of CM is going on for a long time. In the next few days, the Congress will have to take an important initiative to solve this crisis.
Venugopal had advised both to remain silent
Before the Bharat Jodo Yatra entered Rajasthan, there was political uproar in the state. Gehlot and the Pilot faction were fiercely attacking each other. KC Venugopal had a meeting with Gehlot and Pilot before the Bharat Jodo Yatra entered Rajasthan. In this, he had advised both the groups to remain silent during the yatra. After this the tussle stopped. Because of this, the political storm in Rajasthan Congress was calm for the last 15 days. However, sloganeering in support of Sachin Pilot was seen in Rahul’s visit.
The yatra reached Rajasthan on 4 December
Rahul’s Bharat Jodo Yatra had reached Rajasthan’s Jhalawar district from Madhya Pradesh on 4 December. In Rajasthan it covered a distance of 521 kms. On the last day i.e. 20 December, Rahul addressed the gathering at Malakheda in Alwar.
Rahul gave this task to the ministers of Rajasthan
In Malakheda, Rahul Gandhi has assigned the task to the ministers of Rajasthan. Rahul has suggested the ministers to walk 15 km every month. This suggestion of Rahul is being linked to the ministers not communicating with the public.
