  • The applicant will be able to get this subsidized loan only if he is pursuing education from a recognized educational institution. If the applicant is pursuing education from abroad, then the institution must be recognized.

  • The government has fixed the annual income limit for the beneficiaries under this scheme, so that the students with outside income will not get the benefit. Under this scheme, the government has planned to benefit those people whose family income is 6 lakhs or less.
  • Under this scheme only those students will be able to get benefits, whose education loan be less than 20 lakhs. So this is a major limitation of this scheme. With which the applicant student can get education in any corner of the world.
  • Under this scheme, the government will give the benefit of the scheme to only those people who are formally Indian citizens. Therefore, it is also mandatory for the beneficiary of the scheme to be an Indian citizen.

Once this period is over, the applicant will be required to repay the full interest and principal amount of the loan.
