Seventh session of Vidhansabha can be prorogued anytime
The government will have to tell the Raj Bhavan the reason for calling the session soon
The letter for calling the eighth session on behalf of the government will be sent to the Raj Bhavan soon.
Jaipur. The seventh session of the 15th Legislative Assembly of Rajasthan can be prorogued anytime in this last week of the year. The process related to prorogation has accelerated. If sources are to be believed, the letter for prorogation of the Legislative Assembly is in the process of leaving the Law Department and the Parliamentary Affairs Department and going through the Chief Minister’s Office to the Raj Bhavan for the Governor’s approval. Along with this, it is also being told that as soon as the Vidhansabha is prorogued, immediately after that, preparations are being made to send the papers to the Raj Bhavan to convene the Budget Session of the year 2023.
The current seventh session of the 15th Legislative Assembly began on 9 February 2022 with the Governor’s address. In the first phase of this budget session, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had kept the state budget for the year 2022-23 in the House on 23 February after the Governor’s address and the government’s reply. After completing the process of passing this budget, the proceedings of the House were adjourned indefinitely on March 28 with the National Anthem in the House.
A total of 30 sittings were held in the seventh session.
In this session also, like the sixth session of the year 2021, meetings were held in three phases but the session was not prorogued. In the seventh session also, a total of 30 meetings were held in two phases. Of these, 25 meetings were held in the first phase. After that five days of meetings were held from 19 to 23 September. Again on September 23, the meeting of the House was adjourned sine die. Since then it was believed that there would be a prorogation but it did not happen. Eventually, the seventh season will now be prorogued.

Budget session may start in third-fourth week of January
Soon after the prorogation of the seventh session, a letter will be sent to the Raj Bhavan by the state government to convene the eighth session. It is being told that the budget session 2023 may start in the middle of January. In fact, from January 10 to 13, the 82nd All India Presiding Officers’ Conference is to be held in the Vidhansabha. In view of this conference, after January 16, the budget session will start with the Governor’s address.
There has already been a dispute between the government and the Raj Bhavan
There has already been a tussle between the state government and the Raj Bhavan over the issue of convening the session. Therefore, a letter will be sent to the Raj Bhavan for calling the session on 21 days’ notice. The government wants to convene the session soon. The government will also have to inform the Raj Bhavan about the reasons for calling the session early.
