Raids in Shopian and Pulwama in terrorism case, important documents recovered


The State Investigation Unit of the Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted raids in Shopian and Pulwama on Wednesday.

Srinagar. The State Investigation Unit of the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday raided three places in Shopian and Pulwama districts in connection with a terror case. A police spokesman said that the SIU conducted raids and searches in Shopian and Pulwama in South Kashmir as part of its continuous effort to destroy the militancy friendly environment (ecosystem). He said that the SIA team raided two places in Jainpura of Shopian and a suspected place in Naina Bhatpura village of Pulwama.

He said that search warrants had been obtained from the concerned court. According to him Search Important documents including digital devices were recovered during. On Friday morning, different teams of the agency along with the security forces raided 12 places in the Kashmir Valley and one in Jammu city.

The officer also inquired at Peer Mittha police station in Jammu. A local court on Wednesday sentenced a self-styled Hizbul Mujahideen commander to 15 years in prison.

Police gave this information, based on the investigation conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir State Investigation Agency, the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) court convicted the district commander of the banned organization Amir Nabi Waghe alias Abu Kasim.
