New Delhi. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla held an all-party meeting on Saturday, two days before the monsoon session of Parliament began. Leaders of many political parties participated in this meeting of all parties, which started in Parliament at around 4 pm. Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, DMK MP TR Balu, Union Minister and BJP MP Pralhad Joshi, BJP MP Arjun Ram Meghwal, YSRCP MP PV Mithunreddy, RLJP MP Pashupati Kumar Paras and other party MPs attend an all-party meeting called by Lok Sabha Speaker.

It was discussed in the meeting what issues would be raised during the session and how much time would be given for discussion on various bills. The Speaker of the Lok Sabha holds an all-party meeting before the start of every Parliament session. It is noteworthy that the monsoon session of Parliament will start on July 18 and will continue till August 12. It will have 18 sittings over a total period of 26 days. Venkaiah Naidu’s term as Vice President ends on August 10.

This session of Parliament is going to be special, because on July 18, voting for the presidential election is to be held. On the other hand, the election of the Vice President will be held on 6th August. If the election for the post of Vice-President is not held unopposed, then the counting of votes will also take place on the same day.

According to sources, during this session of Parliament, the government can introduce about a dozen new bills, while the opposition is preparing to surround the government on issues like Agneepath scheme, unemployment and inflation, alleged misuse of investigative agencies.
