Maharashtra News: The Maharashtra cabinet has taken an important decision in its meeting on Sunday. Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis said in a media statement after the meeting, “We have approved the report of the Anna Hazare Committee to start Lokayukta in Maharashtra on the lines of Lokpal.

Further, the Deputy CM said that the government will bring this bill in this session itself. He said that under this, the CM and the cabinet will be brought under the purview of the Lokayukta. The Prevention of Corruption Act will be made a part of this law and the Lokayukta will have a team of five people including retired judges.

Earlier on Saturday, the Deputy Chief Minister had said on Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto’s remarks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi should have criticized Bhutto’s remarks. He had said that a minister of a bankrupt country can talk like this but at the same time if someone like Rahul Gandhi criticizes then it is clear that politics is more important than the country.
