Kia Carens is quite popular in India.

Now the company will update it and launch it in the market.
new Delhi. Kia Motors India entered the MPV space earlier this year with the Carens. It soon became a top seller for the brand. Cairns are currently priced between Rs. 9.99 lakh and Rs. 17.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and is offered in a wide range with 3 engines and multiple transmission options to attract a large customer base.
The Kia Carens is powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 115 hp of maximum power and 144 Nm of peak torque. The 1.5L turbo diesel engine generates 115HP and 250Nm while the 1.4L turbocharged petrol engine produces 140HP and 242Nm. According to the recent reports that surfaced on the internet, the Kia will get a new powertrain.
Engine & Power
The existing 1.4-litre turbo petrol mill will be replaced by new 1.5-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder units. This will be the maximum power. The engine will hit the assembly line locally unlike the fully imported 1.4-litre engine. Thus significant cost savings can be made. The bigger 1.5-litre petrol mill can already be found in Hyundai Motor Group’s international portfolio.

Globally, the engine is retained with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard or a seven-speed dual-clutch auto as an option. India may also get similar gearbox options. Despite the upcoming more stringent RDE emission norms, the 1.5-litre diesel engine will continue to power the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Kia Cairns.
