This LRP is passing through Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. This patrol tour of Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force is being warmly welcomed and greeted by the local population and civil administration along the entire route. Presently, the Petrol Party is headed by Girish Chandra Purohit, Deputy Inspector General, Sector Headquarters (Tezpur).
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Inspector General Purohit said that this patrol from Karakoram Pass to Jachep-La, Arunachal Pradesh is an attempt to connect the general public with the spirit of national integration. This will enrich our experience even more.
During this patrolling, various activities like medical camps, distribution of medicines, tree plantation and educational and awareness lectures are being organized by Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force in the border areas. This program of the force is being highly appreciated by the people of the frontier area.
ITBP is monitoring the border from Karakoram Pass on the borders of Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh to Jechup La in Arunachal Pradesh. Temperatures drop down to (-) 45 °C at the force’s border posts in heights up to 18,800 feet.
ITBP along with border security is also providing security to various establishments of national importance in the country, including Rashtrapati Bhavan, Vice President’s Bhawan, Rumtek Math (Sikkim), Tihar Jail (North Delhi), LBSNAA (UKD) and Chandigarh (Punjab). Includes various establishments.
