IND v ENG: What does Hardik Pandya do to keep himself fresh? know in their own words

Hardik Pandya returns to form ahead of T20 World Cup
India won the ODI series against England 2-1
Hardik Pandya did a great job with bat and ball

Manchester. Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya believes that he has finally found his rhythm as a bowler and will bowl at full speed whenever the need arises in the future. Hardik lost his place in the Indian team due to fitness issues, but he made a strong comeback in the 2022 season of the Indian Premier League. He also managed to do well with both the ball and the bat during the recent limited overs series against England.

Hardik’s ability with the bat was never in doubt but he impressed everyone with his bowling against England. Hardik made his career-best performances of four wickets for 33 runs and four wickets for 24 runs during the T20 and ODI series respectively. In the final ODI on Sunday, he produced his career-best bowling performance and then stitched a century partnership with Rishabh Pant to play a key role in India’s victory.

‘I like to play with 100% potential’
Talking to the media after the third ODI, Pandya said that being able to bowl regularly gives him a lot of satisfaction. Hardik said, ‘First of all, let’s talk about my bowling. After each series, I train for four or five days because it improves my fitness and keeps me fresh. I like to play with 100 per cent potential because it gives me a chance to do all the things that I did today.

Hardik could not find his rhythm in the last series against Ireland but he did his best against England. He said, ‘After IPL, I came back in the series against South Africa. I bowled one over and then didn’t bowl in two matches. It is very important for me as a bowler that I keep bowling.

Hardik Pandya got such confidence
Hardik said that taking four wickets in the first T20 gave him the necessary confidence. He said, ‘It is very important for me to achieve consistency and I work on it. I usually don’t practice before the match but I bowled with full effort for a few hours. That’s where I got my momentum and then taking four wickets (in T20 against England) changed everything. It gave me consistency and confidence.

‘I think I bowl smartly’
Hardik doesn’t think there is a need to bowl at full capacity all the time. He said, ‘I think I bowl cleverly. I will bowl at my full pace only when needed. If you look at my last few matches, I was bowling at a speed of around 130 kmph. It’s not that I can’t bowl fast. It depends more on the situation. I realized that it would be better to bowl smartly than to put full emphasis. Today the ground was big, I wanted them to play big shots and take the risk of playing shots over the fielding of square leg and fine leg.
