Three Subjects of Preliminary Exam:
- english language
- quantitative ability
- reasoning ability
Tips to prepare for Reasoning Ability Subject:
Reasoning test checks the mental and problem solving ability of the candidate. Reasoning is not like mathematics in which you can solve the problem with the help of some formulas. In Reasoning, the candidate has to first understand the problem and then he can solve it. While solving the questions of Reasoning, it is important that the candidate should not spend too much time on a single question. The best way to be perfect in Reasoning is to practice a lot of its questions.
Some important topics of reasoning are as follows:
- Analytical Reasoning – Seating Arrangement, Grouping, Selection, Matching etc.
- Other verbal reasoning – blood relation, coding decoding, input output, critical reasoning, direction sans venn diagram etc.
- Non-verbal Reasoning – Not many questions come from this topic in PO Exams.
While solving Reasoning, it is important that you solve the questions of that topic first in which you are perfect and which you can solve in minimum time. While solving Reasoning, keep in mind that do not waste your time by getting stuck in the seating arrangement and puzzles.
Tips for Preparation of Quantitative Ability Subject:
Basic Maths questions are covered in this section of State Bank PO Exam. Before solving maths questions, it is important that you learn maths formulas and short tips to solve the questions. This whole section depends on the formula and your calculations. This is the most scoring subject in which the candidate can get good marks by practicing. While solving the questions of this section, it should be kept in mind that the candidate should not do any gas without calculating in it.
Important topics related to quantitative ability:
- Numbers – Basic Number System, HCF & LCM, Number Series etc.
- Arithmetic – Averages & Allegation, Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Profit & Loss, Simple & Compound Interest, Age Problems, Speed Time & Distance etc.
- Modern math – probability, permutation & combination etc.
- Geometry – Mensuration
- DI – Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency.
The important thing here is that DI is a part of Quantitative Ability or not, but sometimes DI questions are included in the Quantitative Ability section of PO level exams. So it would be good for you that you also prepare well for it.
Tips for Preparation of English Language Subject:
The English language subject in the State Bank PO exam is a bit difficult as compared to other exams and the candidate also has the most difficulty in solving this section. If you read English books well, you can chat with your friend in English and you watch English movies, then it does not mean that it will be easy for you to solve the questions of this subject. You have to prepare separately.
