Chandigarh: With an aim to improve the pass percentage of schools in view of the upcoming board exams, the Haryana government has asked temples, mosques and gurudwaras to sound ‘alarms’ to wake up class 10th and 12th students early.

The state education department has also asked the concerned school authorities to ask parents to wake up their children at 4:30 am, so that the morning time can be utilized for board exam preparation. In a letter sent to the principals of all government schools, the department stressed that a joint plan should be made by parents and teachers so that students can get some extra hours for studies.

It said that the teachers will also inquire through the WhatsApp group whether the students are awake and studying or not. It has also been said in the letter that if the parents are not cooperating, then it should be brought to the notice of the school management committee.
