GMRIT: Infosys founder Narayan Murthy said – India’s identity corruption and dirty roads, youth change it

NR Narayana Murthy, founder of IT major Infosys, while addressing students at an event at GMR Institute of Technology, said India’s reality is corruption, dirty roads, pollution and, at times, no electricity. Whereas, the reality of Singapore is clean roads, pollution free environment and lots of energy. “It is your responsibility to create that new reality,” he told the students, said a release issued by GMR.

Addressing the students at the silver jubilee celebrations of GMR Institute of Technology (GMRIT) at Rajam in Vizianagaram district, Narayana Murthy said that every shortcoming should be seen as an opportunity for change and “imagine yourself as a leader One should try to remove the deficiency, not wait for someone.

Narayana Murthy further said that the youth should develop the mindset to bring change in the society, learn to keep the interest of the public, society and the nation above their personal interest. Citing the example of GMR Group Chairman GM Rao, he urged the students to take inspiration from him and become an entrepreneur whenever possible and create more jobs. “Creating more jobs is the only solution to eradicate poverty and help the less privileged,” he said.

Meanwhile, GMR Group Chairman GM Rao said that Narayana Murthy is an inspiration for the aspiring youth. He told Narayana Murthy, “You are an inspiration to my team, all the students and faculty.” GMRIT was established in 1997. GMR Varalakshmi Foundation (GMRVF), the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of GMR Group, is celebrating its 25th year of inception.
