Over 100 Indians, including Chief Ministers Yogi Adityanath, Ashwini Vaishnav, BM Bommai and Smriti Irani, will attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting in Davos next month. Yogi Adityanath will be the first Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh to attend the meeting to be held on January 16-20, 2023.
It is not yet confirmed whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the meeting or not. Earlier, he had participated in this program of WEF in 2018. In 2021 and 2022, the meeting was addressed through video conferencing.
The final list of the world’s rich and powerful who will attend the meet is yet to be finalised. However, heads of state and heads of more than 50 countries are expected to attend the event in the city of Davos, Switzerland. G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant may also participate.
100 Indian businessmen can also be involved
About 100 Indian businessmen, including Gautam Adani and Mukesh Ambani, are likely to attend the meeting in the Swiss sky resort town of Davos. Other businessmen who are likely to attend include Kumar Mangalam Birla, N Chandrasekaran, Nadir Godrej, Adar Poonawalla, Sajjan Jindal, Rajan and Sunil Mittal, Sanjeev Bajaj and Sudarshan Venu, Nandan Nilekani, Roshni Nadar Malhotra, Byju Ravindran and Vijay Shekhar Sharma.
