In view of the increasing cases of Corona in China, fear has started increasing in India too. In view of this, the central government is on alert. The round of meetings regarding Corona has also started. On Wednesday, Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya held a meeting with senior officials and experts on the status of COVID-19 in the country.
The Chinese variant BF-7 arrived in India only in the month of September.
Mandaviya told that the dangerous Chinese variant BF.7 of Corona had come to India in the month of September itself. Its symptoms were found in an NRI woman in Vadodara. The woman had come to Vadodara from America. Two other people who came in contact with him were also investigated. Although his report came negative. Later the woman was cured. Apart from this, two other cases of BF.7 were also found in Ahmedabad and Odisha.
Chinese variant could not create havoc in India
Amidst apprehensions, these figures have also given a big relief. The variant BF.7 which has created havoc in China, its effect has not been seen in India till now. This dangerous variant has entered India in September itself, but could not create havoc. So far only four patients have been found infected with it. If seen in this way, due to its strong preparations and precautions, India has been able to stop its infection. However, there is a need to take more precautions regarding this.
Mass vaccination saved
Large-scale vaccination in the country has played an important role in preventing corona infection. Booster doses were also given to crores of people, the effect of which is now clearly visible. The months of September to December are considered ideal for corona infection, it spreads more rapidly in winter. But the four cases that have come to light in these three months are showing that the massive vaccination campaign has shown its effect. In India, mainly two vaccines Covishield and Covaxin were given to the people. In this, Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin is completely indigenous.
Vaccination figure in India crossed 220 crores
The Health Minister had told in Parliament on December 19 that the number of vaccinations in India has crossed 220 crores. This number is including the first, second and precautionary doses of all available corona vaccines. The world’s largest vaccination campaign was started on 18 January 2021 in the country. According to experts, a country like India is not at risk, because three rounds of vaccination have been done in our country. Immunity has been created in people. Corona will be everywhere in India too, but that is why it is not affecting us now. Now Corona is not a big threat in India.
From the beginning, the world was apprehensive about China
At the same time, the world was apprehensive about China from the beginning. The world never had faith in his vaccine as well. Like India, there was no vaccination campaign on a large scale in China. People were forcibly imprisoned in their homes. Crowds were definitely prevented from gathering, but China’s emphasis on developing immunity among the people remained low. Today he is suffering from the same mistake.
800 million people in China may be corona infected
In China, 800 million people may get corona infected in the next few months. Airfinity, a London-based global health intelligence company, said that there could be 2.1 million deaths after the end of the zero covid policy in China. Airfinity attributed this to low vaccination and lack of antibodies in China. After the end of strict restrictions in China, the cases of corona are increasing once again. Since the infection will spread more in winter, there is also a possibility of one million deaths next year.
