The film is made on Nalin’s childhood memories
‘Chhelo Show’ is inspired by director Pan Nalin’s childhood memories, which makes it a semi-autobiographical film. Nalin was born and spent all her childhood in Adtala village of Saurashtra. ‘Chhelo Show’ features six village boys from local communities in the region and was shot in villages and railway stations in Saurashtra. He also brought in old celluloid Hindi films and technicians to run projectors to make the film look as real as possible. Its story revolves around a childhood full of innocence, while most of the starcast is made up of child actors. Nalin’s friend and casting director Dilip Shankar helped Nalin in casting the child actors.
