As per the Memorandum of Agreement issued, this exemption will be applicable on transfers, tours and training and retirement travel. The norms of travel in Tejas Express trains will be similar to that of Shatabdi trains. The announcement also included Tejas trains in the list of top trains on which central government officials can now travel legally.

An employee’s pay level will determine whether they are eligible to take advantage of these specific benefits. Eligible government officials are allowed to use premium Tatkal trains such as Rajdhani trains, Shatabdi and Duronto trains.
