BJP roars a lot on dynasticists, will it remain silent on Jaganmohan, the ‘friend of the South’?

New Delhi: People are getting disillusioned with family politics. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been making a scathing attack on dynastic politics for the last few years. He has said that family parties have done a lot of damage to the country on the basis of rigging, corruption and nepotism. He has been taking a dig at all the opposition and regional parties including the Congress on this issue. Meanwhile, YS Jaganmohan Reddy has been elected as the Life President of Yuvajan Shramik Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) in Andhra Pradesh on Saturday. Reddy wants to make a political move in South India by collaborating with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Now it has to be seen whether BJP will become a part of this strategy or whether it stays away from Reddy while maintaining his stand on dynastic politics.

Jagan has been elected by the party as the Lifetime President
YSRC was formed in 2011 after Jagan left the Congress. Since then he is the president of the party. His mother Vijayamma has been the honorary president. Jaganmohan Reddy has been elected as the life president of the party. The process was completed on the concluding day of the party’s two-day convention. Earlier the constitution of the party was amended. Its purpose was that Jagan could be elected as the President for life. Jagan was last elected president of the YSRC in 2017 at a party convention. The YSRC will now have to take the approval of the Election Commission to keep Jagan as the party’s president for life. This will eliminate the need for the party to hold elections for the post every two years.

Who are the Muslims whom BJP wants to support in the 2024 elections?

Vijayamma had resigned from her post on Friday due to differences in the family. It is another matter that Vijayamma had said that she was leaving the YSRC to support her daughter Sharmila. Sharmila is the president of the YSR Telangana Party in the neighboring state.

BJP getting aggressive in South
Except Karnataka, BJP does not have much penetration in the southern states. These include Andhra Pradesh. Jaganmohan Reddy can open the way for BJP in Andhra Pradesh. He is the Chief Minister of the state. It is said that he himself wants a political alliance with the BJP in South India. It is a win-win situation for both. BJP’s constant focus is on Telangana and Kerala. BJP can destroy all equations in South India with the help of Jaganmohan Reddy. She would like Reddy not to be confined to Andhra Pradesh. She can shake KCR and DMK’s Stalin in Telangana with Reddy’s.

Agriculture law, CAA, Agneepath… Every time there is a protest, what is the lesson for BJP?

The YSRC has supported the BJP on several occasions. The same happened in the case of Draupadi Murmu, the NDA candidate for the post of President. However, Jaganmohan Reddy’s profile hinders the way BJP is attacking regional parties. Jagan is the son of YS Rajasekhara Reddy (YSR). YSR has been the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh twice. After the death of his father in September 2009, when the Congress scolded Jagan, he parted ways. YSRC performed brilliantly in the last assembly election and Jaganmohan Reddy became the CM.

Understand BJP’s plan in South India
BJP does not have much influence in South India. Barring Karnataka, it has a very limited support base in Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Telangana so far. In these states, the keys of power remain in the hands of the regional parties. BJP now wants to change this whole math. In the last Lok Sabha elections, BJP’s vote share was 0.96 percent in Andhra Pradesh, 12.93 percent in Kerala, 3.66 percent in Tamil Nadu and 19.45 percent in Telangana. She wants to increase this support base. He needs a strong ally in fulfilling this intention. He has got a hint of this trust from Jaganmohan Reddy. YSRCP has no alliance with BJP. Jagan’s party line is quite clear in this matter. She supports BJP on the basis of issues. In such a situation, there is also a question whether BJP will allow him to do the same in future also. Especially when it is very aggressive to increase its presence in South India.
